STANDARDS

These are the Standards of Indigent Defense for the State of Louisiana. These standards provide recommended and aspirational guidelines for the consideration and use by district indigent defender boards in providing quality services to their indigent clients. However, there are certain requirements which relate to the certification of attorneys to represent indigents charged with capital crimes. Certification requires that the attorney meet the standards.
